Bridal Hair And Make-Up Tips: What NOT To Do The Day Before Your Wedding

bridal hair and make-up tips

Your wedding day may just well be one of the most important days of your life.  So it’s no doubt you want everything to be picture perfect.

You want the perfect venue, the perfect theme. And your hair and make-up…well, it must be flawless.

I’ve seen my share of faux paus brides tend to do before their wedding.

I remember one client in particular. She dyed her hair the day before her wedding that left dye stains on her forehead. It must have took an hour of scrubbing to get the stain completely off before we started on her make-up. Thankfully it all worked out.

Imagine your wedding pictures showing faint dye stains behind the make-up?

7 Hair and Make-Up Tips For Every Bride

As a bridal hair and make-up stylist, I make sure to share my personal hair and make-up tips with my clients so that her hair and make-up is flawless on her wedding day.

Here are the tips I share with them:

Try new products on your hair or skin 2-3 weeks before your big day!
Go tanning or use a self tanner the day before your wedding
Get facial waxing or threading days before
Apply anything to your skin prior to makeup application ( Unless your MUA instructed to do so)
Skip lip application, even if its just tinted lip moisturizer your photographer will thank you- you will thank you!
Don’t over exfoliate your skin
Skip Hydration ( Drink plenty of water)
Don’t book a facial too close to your wedding day

Bonus Tip:

Everyone always says dirty hair is better to style but that’s not entirely true.

You have dirty hair if:

  • you’ve applied hair products
  • you have left in a leave-in conditioner
  • and if you have gone two or more days without washing your hair
